Using stage blood

How to completely hide a tattoo

Also called cover cream, camouflage makeup is an opaque cream used to cover up a tattoo or hide marks on the skin.

To get a perfect match with your skin, you must use a palette to mix the precise colour needed.

For best results, use a contrasting colour first to cover up the tattoo or mark, then mix a matching skin colour to blend the area in.

If you need to use camouflage makeup under your eyes, soften it first by mixing a small amount of Under Make-up Base or Cleansing Milk with it on the spatula and then applying it thinly with a brush or by dabbing it onto the skin with your finger.

  • Start by cleaning the area with cleansing lotion
  • The next stage is to cover up the tattoo or mark with a contrasting colour.  If it is a dark colour, use the white (001).  If it is red, use the light green (408).
  • If the mark is a strong, simple shape, paint the contrasting colour over it with a brush.  For large or complicated shapes, use a latex sponge (or your fingers) to cover the whole area.
  • Do not powder the makeup yet, but use the skin colours from the palette to mix a match for the surrounding area.  The back of your hand is ideal as a mixing area because it warms the makeup and is the right colour!
  • Stipple the matching colour over the mark so as not to disturb the hiding colour.
  • Set the makeup with fixing powder applied with a powder puff.
  • Leave the fixing powder for 10 minutes and then flick off excess powder with a pony hair brush.
  • Pat over with damp cotton wool to avoid a powdery appearance.
  • After rain or swimming always dry off water by dabbing - never rub the make-up.
  • Remove with multi remover.
  • After removing the makeup, use Skin Care Cream if required.
