Make your own beards and moustaches
Crêpe hair is used for making stage
moustaches, beards and anywhere else fake hair is needed. It's ideal for
stage use. Crêpe hair comes in a huge range of colours both natural and
weird!
How to use crêpe hair:
- Tease out the ends of the rope, cutting the string to release around
10cm of crepe hair.
- Press the strands with your steam iron to straighten the curl to suit.
- Pull out a tuft of hairs and twist the ends of the tuft to hold the
hairs together in a cigar shape.
- Cut across the middle of the tuft at an angle (hair never grows at
right angles to the skin).
- Apply a thin layer of mastix as a moisture barrier.
- Let the thin layer dry.
- Use a generous amount of mastix for the actual gluing.
- Press the cut ends of a half tuft into the mastix and allow to dry.
- Repeat as needed, overlapping the tufts.
- Cut the twisted end off the tufts and trim the hair to length.
- Remove water based mastix with normal washing or cleansing.
- Use cotton wool dampened with mastix remover for extra strong.
- Use skin care cream to re-moisturize.
