Get stuck in with mastix and stubble paste
Mastix is the modern replacement for traditional spirit gum. It is
easier to use and kinder to skin than spirit gum. Stubble paste is
mastix in a stick.
Using mastix
For most uses, it's best to apply a thin coat of mastix to the skin first
and let it dry. Then use a fairly generous brushload of mastix for the
actual glueing. Don't attempt to glue a large area in one go, but do a
small area at a time, leaving gaps so your face can move without disturbing
the adhesive. There are two types of mastix.
Water based is fine for most low strength gluing jobs like stars, small
moustaches, stubble etc. and is very easy to remove. You just soak it off
with water.
Extra strong mastix is great for all heavier gluing jobs like attaching
false noses and baldhead caps. You need mastix remover to take it off
cleanly.
Stubble paste
Stubble paste is a solid adhesive in a lipstick-style applicator. Just
like a big pritstick, you can use it for attaching chopped crepe hair
stubble or loose glitter. It can be used over make-up and washes off with
water.
